Hipporange

The hippo had a dream of orange lakes. Water was not enough for her anymore. She hoarded all the oranges there were in the world, ate them and cooked herself in an immense pot. When she was ready, she cut her body in half. Fiery rivers and lakes of sticky jelly slowly spilled over the land. The hippo watched the steaming flood, brimming with bittersweet joy of purposeful death that loomed over her.

The painting reproduction used as a feature image and the source of inspiration for this particular scribble is a work of the Czech pop-surrealist artist Jan Kottman who has kindly let me use it here.
